Why you should never buy Zongshen Motorbikes

Worst motorbike in the world.

Worst motorbike in the world.

I made the worst decision of my life when I decided to buy a Zongshen 200 as a run about. I bought the Zongshen from the Kawasaki dealer in Nelspruit, thinking that a bike with a 3 month guarantee, that has done only 850kms cannot be a bad buy.  That was about 4 months ago. In that time I have added less than 200kms to the mileage traveled.

As this bike is supplied without engine mount dampers, seriously they  have bolted the engine to the frame without any kind of vibration damping, shit keeps falling off the bike.

I was riding along and the exhaust suddenly dropped 3 inches. I replaced the bolt. The next 40 k’s or so were uneventful then the ignition fell off.  The bike stood in my garage for a bit as I was disgusted and didn’t have time to get the bike fixed.

I had it fixed last week as I needed transport due to car trouble. In the week I have had to replace the numberplate which fell off because the rattling and vibration actually tore the number plate. I heard something vibrating and have been unable to find the source of the rattle.

On Wednesday night the bike just stopped. Now I want you to not that this is not some old rattle trap but a bike that has done 942 km’s. I am feeling seriously like I was ripped off.

If you need reliable transport for your kid to get to school and back on stay away from Zongshen motorbikes.

Damn shit. That’s rigt never buy a what zongshen.. let’s call it Zongshit the brand for all those fucking days. Really the vibrations are there mac, but you need to change the god damn chain and sprocket wheel at the back and front cause it will take away those shiiityy vibrations. Got my zs 125 fell from it 3x already but still fucking alive.. The zongshit is with me for almost 4 or 5 years now and still fucking running…

take care of your dream fucking machine coz that company will never make such motorcycles againnnn.. ahhhhhh.

enjoy and live the tradition of proud and shiity owner of a zongshen este zongshitttt,.

    Take care of yourself OOOOOOkkkkkaaaaayyyy!!!

get a life guys, if you wanted a bike without problems – fork out 40 to 50k and get something that lasts – its only your own fault when your a cheap ass!!!!

Let me understand. Are you suggesting that the poor should get screwed over because they can’t afford Japanese and German scoots? I suggest then in turn that your brains are up your arse. Don’t buy the chinese shit, so that the thieving bastards that are importing the crap’s businesses can go down the toilet.

  3. Riaan Says:

Sorry, but it’s the way it is. Do not buy cheap imports (even if Kawazaki sells them). I also learned the hard way with Johnway’s SAM quads – I had to take it back to the factory to be re-assembled due to it falling apart. I rode the one less than 5 minutes when the front suspension came loose. And I had to buy a toolkit to tighten all the nuts after EVERY USE. If you cannot afford the “Good Stuff”, rather don’t buy anything. I sold the crap at 40% of what I paid for it after a year, and am saving for a nice 2nd hand TRX or similar.

So thus my cautionary tale is valid. I sold that Zongshen for 65% of its purchase price after 100 and something kilometers. I will never buy another chinese vehicle again. Thats not even a maybe. In my opinion these products should be banned. They are not fit for use.

Yes they rattle, but for the prize you wont buy much better.I have done 3500 km’s with mine.I think the motor is good, but the other stuff is not so good.So far I have lost the battery(replaced by Kawazaki with some Korean shit which did not last a month)The starter solenoid packed up(I replaced mine with a modified Lucas solonoid)Otherwise I am happy to reach max 100 km on the speedo.

  5. james Says:

never ever ever !!! buy noname crap,i made that mistake once and will never do it again. the quality is shit. rather wait and save a while for a decent brand name bike and you wont be sorry. the coreans and chinese must keep their shit away from normal people who actualy use a bike for what it is and not some small guy transport.

  6. Wayne(Nelspruit Says:

come on guys, the same can’t be said about all chinese bikes. I have a Jialing 125 which I commute with between White River and Nelspruit. I have had the bike for a little over 6 years and use it 7 days a week. The bike has 65000km on it, yes you are seeing right 65000km!!. I know of big japenese bikes that couln’t dream of seeing that kind of milege.
