Wow, seems like I got here just in time for the barney?

Regardless of how many types of spam there are to nitpick about and how many spelling mistakes are made battling it, the law is quite clear on the matter.

A copy of the ECT Act is available on-line via the Government’s web site: http://www.info.gov.za/view/DownloadFileAction?id=68060

Unfortunately our glorious government have yet to figure out hyperlinked text, so the link points to a PDF of a scanned document. (Ouch)

Section 45 deals with spam. There is a useful primer for dealing with spam mails here: http://internet.org.za/#Spam (Warning, possible out of date page)

If the spam originates in ZA there is a good chance that the sending network is a member of ISPA. If it is you can lodge an official complaint with ISPA: http://www.ispa.org.za/

Thanks for this Diaan, I believe it reinforces my theory that spammers are scum and break the law

Honey I don't think it's my brain thats dead. I think the reality is you don't like to be told off. Oh, you do like insulting others but you can't handle the tables being turned.
If I remember correctly, it was you who coined that phrase of there being 2 types of spam. So its only your 2 types that count?
If this Alan was so clueless and had no chance in YOUR industry why is he worrying you so much? I welcome my competitors "spamming" me as it gives me a headsup as to what they are offering and helps me know whats going on in my industry. I'd say thanks to him.
I actually think I may try him out.
Oh by the way, whats that other guys name who also has more than 1 industry he dabbles in ... Would it be Sir Richard Branson? I wish Alan good luck in his new industry of web designing. Actually I wish him luck in every business he may be in. I hope that if he ever enters my industry, I will give him a warmer welcome!
