Spamming web designers with a web design offer is a bad plan.

Specifically spamming this web designer who hates spam is a bad plan because I am going to look at your offer and website and show people how bad you are. You see any business that has to resort to spam is in trouble for a number of reasons. The biggest they are in danger of losing their email account and their web accounts.  I get loads of spam and there are two types there’s good spam and there’s bad spam.

Good spam is targeted, It starts by saying Hi Guy I know you don’t know me but I was checking out your website and noticed that you were interested in Photography. I always read spam that starts out that way and it does not upset me, not even in the slightest. I especially like when that email has a link that says, Unsubscribe me so that if the “good spammer” doesn’t have anything that interests me then I can just say go away.

Here’s another thing that really pees me off. I click a Unsubscribe me link and it asks me for my email address. I have dozens and you sent it to undisclosed recipient and I must figure out how to unsubscribe. The other thing is tell me on the site I have been removed from your database, Don’t tell me it will take two weeks and don’t send me an email saying how sorry you are to see me go. If I decided I don’t want your stuff, your telling me how sorry you are is not going to make a difference.

Back to this mornings genius. He sent me an email offering me web design for R800.00. Now that’s a seriously good deal if you want a web site, but how good is it really. For starters the web designer does not have enough web savvy to target his emails at non web design types.  He is obviously the graduate of some web design diploma in three weeks school.

I clicked the link after phoning him and telling him that he was not very savvy. I also reported him to his ISP both mail and hosting. I am not going to link to his site because I know what happens when I receive email complaining about spam. I switch off services with no malice and forethought. We will then investigate and restore if we deem it the correct option.

So I looked at his site and tried to work out how much he knows. The first thing I looked at was metatags. So many and all of them keyword stuffed. As Google mostly ignores metatags these are a waste of time. I have highlighted the two that have some relevance as you can see his keywords are pretty good, He knows what he wants, But that description? Google is going to take one look at that and sink him.

Let’s move on here nothing more to see, He also added a zillion kewords on the bottom of his page, I know that this is a recipe for failure, I tell you what search for Is hooker Barbie a racist and see the results for this web site. The pages linking to the page that I actually wrote the article on are ranking better for the term.

My results speak for themselves, The tag page for Hooker Barbie is ranked but the article is not. The link from Blog Topsites ranks better, The article itself is nowhere to be found, My article the Springbok is a racist is considered more relevant than the Hooker Barbie is a racist page.

So the keyword stuffing tells me that the web designer that spams other web designers is no expert on the subject. Anyone offering web sites for R800.00 is either planning to do work, so it’s going to be DIY or there’s a bait and switch on the cards.

I also noted that he offering submission to over 300 search engines, Do the words link farms mean anything?  Alan Solarsh needs to have a rethink about what he is doing and upgrade his skill set. I googled Alan Solarsh and found that he was an importer of sorts a few weeks ago, Alan Solarsh sold discount telephone calls, This week he designs web sites.

    So lets see you want to spam my site and advertise your web design site with a crappy comment like this? I think next time you should consider whether your comment adds value or not.

    Guy McLaren, firstly before you bad mouth a dude that is probably just trying to make a living and feed his kids, I suggest you check your spelling and grammar. I would be embarrassed if I was you. “I get loads of spam and their are two types theirs good spam and theirs bad spam.” THERE may be 2 types of spam in your world like THERE are 2 types of writers in mine … You get my jist?
    Secondly, whats wrong with your delete button? Mine works fine.
    In my opinion, which is what this is all about, THERE are 2 types of spam. There is junk, virus and nonsense spam and then there is people who are just trying to make a living. And us ADULTS have the choice of using THEIR services or buying THEIR products or just deleting THEIR mails.
    Oh by the way, THERE is no capital letter after a comma.

    Spam is spam fullstop. All of those poor bastards sending out there grow your penis spam are also trying to feed their families. I too am trying to feed my family, I don’t resort to spam because I know it pisses people off fullstop. Their mails waste my bandwidth, I pay for the pleasure of receiving spam. Spam me at your own risk. I don’t care if you are trying to feed your family. If you need to know how to use the internet to get business, speak to me or a zillion others that can show you how to use the net to gain business without resorting to spam.

    My punctuation maybe sucks, but in the bigger scheme of things who actually give a fart, except maybe a few anal retentive plonkers, like you maybe.
