Living near the Kruger, Africa’s premier wildlife reserve is a tease. I don’t get to visit as often as I want. I lived on the South Coast a few years back and recall a conversation I had with Mervy Dowsett (RIP friend) . Mervyn and I talked about the beaches and how little time we as residents spent on them. He discussed the issue in the following terms.

He said to me “Guy, we live here but never go walking on the beach. Every year people spend thousands on fuel and tolls to just get here”  Well Mervyn whereever you are I want to tell you that I live just down the road from Kruger Africa and people spend thousands just to get here and I don’t go as often as I like.

My excuses vary from, I need a higher vehicle to, I am just too tired to drive all the way there. I commit to visiting Kruger Africa at least once a month in the next 12 months, just so that Mervyn can’t tell me that people spend thousands just to get here and I am not enjoying the place.
