I always hear people that whine about the traffic department being over zealous. The Metro Police in Johannesburg are called Wayne Minnaars Gestapo. We have all sorts of names for these folks just doing their jobs. They were hired to fight traffic crime not bank robbers with AK 47’s.
Sadly the people hired to do that job don’t seem to be as efficient as the traffic departments country wide. I hear people complaining about cops hiding behind bushes catching them as they flaunt the law. Here is an idea. Stop speeding then you won’t get caught.
If you speed and get caught pay the fine and stop whining. Seriously speeding is not as bad as robbery, that is why if robbers get caught and found guilty they go to goal. If you get caught speeding you are more than likely going to get a fine. Ok that is unless you are driving like a total moron and going so fast that you will kill someone because you will never stop fast enough in an emergency.
I myself travelling at 140 coming back from Middelburg at night, came around a bend and over a little blind rise found myself right on the bumper of some really slow driver. Circumstances favoured me, there was no oncoming traffic. Had there been I would not be here to tell this cautionary tale.
That damned fool was travelling at 50km/hr at night on a highway. He should be fined for dangerous driving but if I had been doing 180 I am guessing we would both be history.
