This first post on my new hosting of this blog is to tell you what this blog is about. Here I am going to tell you what I tried and what worked. I am going to discuss software,  websites and affiliate systems. I will tell you about my research, my successes and my failures. In reality this site is going to discuss all my other sites and the results I am achieving.

I am going to start by discussing WordPress in the very next post. I will explain exactly how to download and install wordpress for any new users. I will tell you about my favourite tools for uploading software. I will introduce hosting services and more. In fact if you want to learn how to make money from the web this is the right place to be.

I have been taking part in the thirty day challenge and I can tell you this much for free, What I have learned this year and last year makes the whole subject awesome.  The first thing you need to get is that sometimes having a preconceived idea of the product you want to market can limit your options.

I started the challenge this year because I want to market my real life business on the web. I have had a certain amount of success from my efforts but the photography market is extremely competitive. Getting to the front page of google for the search term wedding photography can only be an uphill struggle. If you make it you will be getting more traffic than any photographer can cope with, but saying that the numbers are not on your side. I will tell you more about keyword research in another article.

I studied the keyword trying to make it work but could not find many keyword phrases that worked. So I decided to look at some of my other interests to find a market or niche that would work for me. After some research the website Router Bench was born.

Within two days it was at number 7 on Google.com, google.co.za and various other country tags as well. In the first day we had 49 unique visitors, were spidered by most of the major search engines and even had 5 click throughs on an advert placed on the site. I will report back in more detail about the stats over the next few days.
