About a year ago I got the urge to paint something, As I had never done it and don’t consider myself an artist I gave it a miss. However the urge did not go away. I would walk into a local art supplier and look at all the goodies. I decided the other day to buy.
I spent R 500 on a few goodies including a single canvas. I started painting and then went to see what I was missing. I ran into Lalie Smith at the supplier and asked for advice. I took my painting home and made a few changes, I added some highlighting and made a mess of other parts that needed some over painting. The water at the bottom of the painting bugged me for days.

I painted the water about 6 times before I was satisfied. I have never had any formal or even informal training so I was pleased with the results. I may not be a Picasso or a van Gogh but I have now done two paintings. I am busy with my third and fourth as well. The bug has bitten.
