My name is, you guessed it, Guy McLaren. I was born way back in last century, at the Rob Fereira Hospital in Nelspruit in May 1965. That makes me just over 45. I went to school, and have worked for the last 28 years or so. Back in 1981 I was an apprentice, so I still like working with my hands and tools on occassion.  Mostly what I do to earn a living is photography and web development.

Photography

I shoot with Canon, because it focuses better than Nikon ;> Seriously I shoot with Canon because when I bought the original DSLR that’s what was available for me to take home then. I am an impatient fella who wants what he wants immediately, I am not a great internet shopper because I still like to pick it up, feel it and play with it, but mostly I don’t want to wait three weeks to get my stuff.

As far as photography goes, I take the shots most other togs will ignore, I will climb the tree, lie down in the dirt and even get right in the subjects face to get the shot. There is NEVER a bad subject. The camera doesn’t lie but can be convinced to find the sweet spot.

Oh yes I have a great camera so I take nice pictures. I will shoot weddings, funerals, newborns, wild life, landscapes, architecture and just about anything else.

Web Development

I start with the premise that if you are going to spend money on getting your business online, you want the website seen. You want Google results so all my sites are automatically optimised for the Search Engines. I don’t build sites using Dreamweaver, Front Page or any other wysiwyg software. I am a professional not a part timer. I have been doing this since 1996. I hand code in PHP, HTML  and will not build you a flash website. It’s that whole getting Search Engine results thing.

If you want a pretty website that will impress web designers and advertising agencies, there is no point in talking to me, If you want a website that will get you Google results, then yes talk to me. I am not saying we build ugly web sites, We work within your corporate image and colours, We believe in KISS principals, but mostly we believe in Return on Investment.
