10 Campervan motorhomes that say WTF were they thinking?

As I have told you in a previous post I am planning a trip from the Tip of Africa to the Top of Europe to raise funds to build a home for Cancer Patients. I am looking for ideas on creating a campervan conversion from Rusty, who is currently a cancer sufferer. I have done two biopsies and can report that the cancer is not terminal. I was also donated a second Kombi this week, It will arrive here next week so I figure we can transplant the sections needed to make the Tip 2 Top mobile.

I went looking for ideas for campervan conversions, so herewith a few that I found that made me say WTF? Maybe you agree that these are seriously nutty ideas?

VW Beetle campervan conversion, Seriously who would have thought it. It seems the Americans will do anything, and do you think it is unique. Strangely the Beetle Campervan conversions are rather popular, I found a number of examples just on this web site.

Maybe the campervan motorhome conversion of a double cab bakkie (bakkie is South african for pick up or ute  for all of you not lucky enough to share this country with me) is not a real WTF moment, yet looking at the pic made me wonder if selling the Kombi Van and buying a bus would not have been a simpler and easier plan for the campervan conversion.

I think a moment of silence is needed for the next campervan conversion.  It is as aerodynamic as a brick but not quite as bad as the stealth campervan conversion further down.

I’ll remain silent for fear of incriminating myself, no on second thoughts the waste of a good T1 Kombi to create this monstrosity of a campervan motorhome is deserving of a charge of vandalism.

I must admit a little sneaking admiration for the creativity that built this one, I know its gotta be kind of cool pretending you are a biker while pulling a bedroom with you.

Yes that’s a type 4 plonked on top a T2 bay window Kombi. I am guessing it was an idea, but taking it to this conclusion is insanity.

I call this one the stealth campervan motorhome, because that non reflective paint job just says WTF?

I cannot for the life of me understand what the F these people were thinking or if they were even thinking.  That used to be a T1, maybe even a barn door, but noooo.

Is that even creating any usable space or is it just to allow him to pretend to be homo erectus?

I found all these Kombi Campervan Motorhome images on  http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=149769.
